Shrouded Depths
August 2024 – August 2025
Shrouded Depths is a first-person survival horror game developed by my Bradley University senior game design class as a capstone project. The game was primarily developed to be displayed at FUSE, an annual local showcase of student-developed projects. As the project was made to be shown to a general audience, particular emphasis was placed on usability and intuitive design during development, especially in my personal contributions.
In the game engine itself, I worked on developing menus and visual on-screen elements including the reticle system, allowing the player to hold a button to focus their weapon as indicated by a ring shrinking on-screen. Much of my work outside of personally writing code and functions involved engaging with other designers to suggest improvements in various areas of the project and directly reviewing the code and changes made by other team members by constantly testing the game to ensure it worked as intended.
